WG.05: Creating New Personas with Unique Windows Logins for Dynamics AX
One of the ways that you can illustrate the interconnectedness of the Dynamics AX processes is through the use of the different personas that are delivered within the demo system. Each of the personas have their own role within the organization and also have their own security profile that makes them unique. You can log in and show that they have limited access to the system, use multiple personas to illustrate workflow within the organization, or even just use them to add a little bit of color to the system.
If you have ever tried showing the different people through multiple browsers, using the in private option or even using multiple browsing applications, you soon realize that keeping all of the different personas straight and making sure that all of the logins are linked correctly can be a problem.
A better way to do this is to use separate demo login sessions so that you can segregate out the different users into their own workspaces. This way you can configure each user with their own desktop, have them use their own passwords to access Dynamics AX and also Office 365, Power BI etc. and then you don’t even have to worry about password cross contamination.
In this guide we will show you how you can configure new users within Dynamics AX so that they can log in with their tenant username, and also how you can configure the demonstration workspace so that everything is linked together to give you the biggest bang for your demo buck.
